SchoolTV is a wellbeing resource that supports families in the challenges relating to modern-day parenting. This award-winning resource helps build relationships, foster connections, enable understanding and break down barriers to navigate a pathway towards better mental health and wellbeing for young people. It can assist in starting conversations on topics that are sometimes awkward or difficult to tackle.
SchoolTV topics feature interviews with leading youth wellbeing experts and researchers worldwide offering hours of relevant and practical information. Partnerships in Transition
Catholic Schools Maitland-Newcastle aims to ensure that parents and carers are fully informed about the range of supports and options available in our diocesan schools for students with diverse learning needs. Transitioning from one school or setting to another, or from school to post-school options, is a significant event for children, young people, and their families.Ìý
The Diocese has created a support guide for families, which aims to assist parents, carers and their children as they explore options, make decisions, plan and prepare for a smooth and supportive transition process, and build strong relationships with key personnel in their child’s new setting.

Protecting our Children
The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has an absolute and abiding commitment to promoting the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children and vulnerable adults — particularly for those who participate in the life of the Diocese as part of our faith communities in parishes, in our diocesan systemic schools and early education centres, as part of our welfare and community services through CatholicCare, out-of-school hours care and other diocesan ministries.
The stands outside the Diocese’s services, programs and parishes, overseeing safeguarding standards in the Diocese. It plays an integral part in the operations of the Diocese, reporting directly to the Bishop’s Office.
The works with NSW Police, the Office of the Children’s Guardian, the Department of Community and Justice and other statutory authorities and specialist authorities within the Catholic Church in Australia to fulfil its responsibilities and maximise the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
